A brilliant new opportunity has been signed off today in Manchester City Centre for a Head of Software Development for a great client of MRJ’s that’s about to embark on an amazing journey with Digital Technology at the forefront of their visionary plans.

Backed with a large scale investment (7 figures), our client is disrupting their industry and is focussing on providing an unmatched and truly outstanding customer proposition, our client. Their plans are ambitious, achievable and game-changing.

Working closely with the CTO and the board of directors, the Head of Software development will be an inspirational leader and will be fully responsible for delivering the Software Engineering / Agile delivery capability across the group.

The current team is c. 15 with plans to grow to at least 25 by September 2019. You will be an integral member of the team and will be expected to:

• Manage, recruit, lead and drive the team
• Develop an agile delivery function and a culture of continuous integration and improvement.
• Own CxO level relationships ensuring that the technology & digital agenda is successfully delivered.
• Inspire, lead from the front and be willing to push boundaries.

PERSON

Passionate in building world-class engineering teams, you will be a brilliant software engineering / technology leader with a passion for all things digital (Web, eCommerce, Mobile).

An engineer at heart, you will be highly focused on delivery, and want to take a leading role in building a world-class engineering team (30+).

To be considered, you will need to offer experience in:

• Leading and managing engineering teams / squads across several disciplines (PHP, Front-End, Android, iOS)
• Attracting, retaining and developing engineering talent
• Coaching developers of all levels and Team Leads on a day-to-day basis
• Championing automated build and deployment with continuous integration
• Agile and Lean principles
