Location: Manchester (Hybrid, 2 days office | 3 days WFH)

Overview of the position

We’re looking for a Senior Platform Engineer, a hands-on problem solver who thrives on code, automation, infrastructure, and continuous improvement. You’ll be at the heart of our DevOps culture, helping us ship software seamlessly into production, observe its performance, and respond quickly to challenges.

Working within our small but growing Platform Engineering team, you’ll help evolve our platform to deliver speed, scale, and innovation across the business. This is a truly brilliant opportunity to shape how we deliver software globally, bringing new ideas, tools, and automation practices that drive efficiency and resilience.

Day-to-day you will:

• Build and manage reusable infrastructure stacks using Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• Design and implement scalable, secure environments across AWS and on-prem VMWare
• Develop automated deployment and operations processes using Kubernetes and Docker
• Collaborate with Security, Engineering, and Architecture teams to define best practices
• Drive continuous improvement with GitOps and modern delivery methods
• Troubleshoot and support infrastructure, pipelines, and application tooling

Person requirements

An experienced Platform Engineer (ideally currently in a senior capacity), you'll bring experience in the design, build, and maintenance of internal developer platforms (IDP), built to enable product engineering teams to deliver high-quality software quickly, securely, and at scale while focusing on customer-facing innovation rather than infrastructure management.

And technically, it's preferred if you can offer:

• Proven experience in Platform or OS engineering (Linux & Windows preferred)
• Strong skills in Terraform, Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes
• Deep understanding of AWS (EC2, S3, IAM, VPC) and ideally VMWare (vSphere, NSX, VCF)
• A passion for automation, innovation, and staying ahead of the curve
