Senior Machine Learning Engineer

Hybrid working in New York | $190,000 to $260,000 base + bonus + equity

This is a product engineering environment where machine learning is already live in production and used daily by thousands of customers.

We’re partnered with a well-funded, high-growth US technology business building intelligent software into the core of its platform. They’re scaling fast, investing heavily in data and ML, and hiring senior engineers who want to own real systems, not just experiments.

You’ll join a small, experienced team with genuine autonomy and a say in technical direction.

The role:

As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer, you’ll design and ship production ML systems end to end.

That means more than modelling.

You’ll build the infrastructure around it too. The pipelines, tooling and platforms that make machine learning reliable, scalable and repeatable across the business.

Typical work looks like:

• Deploying models that serve millions of predictions with low latency
• Building feature stores, training pipelines and CI/CD for ML
• Improving model performance, reliability and observability in production
• Partnering with backend and product teams to embed ML directly into customer journeys
• Reducing inference cost and scaling distributed systems efficiently
• Setting best practices and mentoring other engineers

It’s messy, real-world engineering. Ambiguous data. Live users. Tight feedback loops.

If you like seeing your work land in production quickly and actually get used, you’ll enjoy this environment.

What they’re looking for:

• 5+ years in ML engineering or applied machine learning roles
• Strong Python skills and experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow or similar
• Experience shipping models into production, not just research
• Solid software engineering fundamentals (APIs, testing, system design, cloud infra)
• Comfortable owning problems end to end
• Bonus: MLOps, platform engineering, or high-scale systems experience
