There is data engineering, and then there is building the infrastructure for a global retail giant. We are exclusively supporting a household name as they modernize their entire data estate. They are sitting on petabytes of customer intelligence and need a Principal Engineer to turn that "data swamp" into a high-octane engine for their GenAI teams.

This is a high-visibility role reporting to the VP of Data. You’ll be the architect of the new Data Lakehouse, ensuring that data is clean, accessible, and ready for real-time decision-making at a massive scale.

What you will be doing

• Leading the design and implementation of enterprise-scale data pipelines.
• Architecting the Snowflake Data Lakehouse for maximum performance and cost-efficiency.
• Setting the standards for data modeling, lineage, and governance across the org.
• Eliminating technical debt in legacy ETL processes and moving to modern ELT.
• Working with ML Engineers to build production-ready feature stores.

What they are looking for

• 8+ years in Data Engineering with mastery of the Snowflake and dbt ecosystem.
• Expert-level Python and SQL skills.
• Proven experience building data platforms from 0 to 1 at a global scale.
• Strong stakeholder management, you can explain complex data structures to the C-suite.
• Experience with Airflow or Dagster for complex orchestration.
