We are partnering with a data and AI company at an inflection point.

They already operate at meaningful scale. Now they are investing heavily in machine learning to power real-time decisioning across the platform.

Rather than bolt ML on, they want to build it properly. Dedicated team. Clear strategy. Strong foundations.

They are looking for a Head of Machine Learning to lead that charge.

This is a rare opportunity to design the function, hire the team and shape how intelligence is embedded across the entire product.

What you will be doing:

You will lead machine learning across the product and organisation, including:

• Defining the ML vision and translating it into a practical, shippable roadmap
• Partnering closely with product and engineering leaders to embed intelligence directly into core workflows
• Leading development of decisioning systems such as personalisation, prediction, experimentation and optimisation
• Establishing the foundations for scalable ML infrastructure, training and inference
• Raising the technical bar across modelling, experimentation and reliability
• Hiring, mentoring and growing a high-performing ML team
• Creating a culture of ownership, pace and accountability

This is equal parts strategy, hands-on technical leadership and people building.

Skills needed:

• Strong background in applied machine learning with models deployed to production
• Experience leading or scaling ML teams in high-growth environments
• Comfortable owning both technical direction and people management
• Deep understanding of experimentation, optimisation and large-scale data systems
• Ability to balance long-term architecture with short-term delivery
• Clear communicator who can influence cross-functional stakeholders
• Experience in decisioning systems, recommender systems, growth optimisation or large-scale ML platforms is a plus.

Most importantly, you know how to turn ML from “interesting ideas” into reliable, customer-facing outcomes.
