Business Analyst | Liverpool (3 days per week) 

 

The MRJ team are working with a major player within the logistics / commerce industry as they embark on a modernisation programme across their entire estate.

 

New platforms, move from on prem to cloud, launch of mobile apps, new tracking systems, new DataWarehouse and CRM platform, introduction of AI tools and more..... In summary everything is being replaced to drive growth.

 

The role & opportunity - Business Analyst

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Lead discovery and analysis across operational domains to understand current-state processes, systems, data flows and pain points
  • Elicit, define and manage business requirements that support process harmonisation and platform consolidation
  • Facilitate workshops and stakeholder sessions to align cross-functional teams on target outcomes, priorities and scope
  • Produce clear documentation including process maps, user journeys, use cases, functional requirements and acceptance criteria
  • Partner with product, engineering, architecture and vendor teams to translate business needs into SaaS-based solution requirements
  • Support evaluation of solution options, including gap analysis between current capabilities and new platforms
  • Contribute to governance and delivery practices, helping ensure requirements are testable, traceable and aligned to programme goals
  • Support change readiness by helping stakeholders understand impacts to processes, roles and ways of working

 

Person Requirements:

 

  • Proven experience as an agile Business Analyst delivering technology change within B2C, Comemrce, Marketplace or logistics environments
  • Experience working on core systems modernisation, legacy replacement and/or platform consolidation programmes
  • Exposure to SaaS implementations and working with third-party vendors (requirements definition, fit-gap, process alignment)
  • Confident stakeholder management skills, able to work across business and technology teams and drive alignment in complex environments
  • Strong process modelling and requirements engineering capability (able to create clear, structured artefacts that support delivery)
  • Comfortable working with differing processes and systems and identifying opportunities to standardise and simplify

 

Day-to-day

Develop and maintain software applications to meet client requirements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design scalable solutions.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly.
Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and standards.
Document software functionality and update technical manuals.
Monitor system performance and implement improvements.
Stay updated with emerging technologies and integrate them as needed.
Provide technical support and training to end-users.
