Our client, an exciting start-up customer obsessed behavioural agency founded by two huge names in the data space (that have grown teams previously to 400+), is looking for a personable and hard-working Junior Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain a variety of solutions including warehousing in the Google Cloud Platform (GCP).


Salary: From £25k-£30k (DOE)

As a Junior Data Engineer, you'll leverage your knowledge of data warehousing and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to design and build data pipelines. You'll combine your technical skills in data modelling and transformation with your expertise in cloud-based data services like BigQuery and Dataflow.


What will you be doing?


  • Data Engineering in Google BigQuery: Design, build, test, and deploy data models and transformations for efficient data analysis.
  • Utilise BigQuery's capabilities including SQL, stored procedures, indexing, clustering, partitioning, and triggers.
  • Partner with internal teams and clients to understand their data needs and objectives.
  • Provide expert guidance and recommendations for optimal cloud solutions.
  • Proactively troubleshoot and resolve technical issues arising from cloud implementations.
  • Leverage business intelligence tools like Looker, Tableau, or Power BI to create insightful data storytelling
  • Empower clients with actionable data insights through clear communication.


Core skills needed:


  • Python Programming: Proficient in building, testing, and deploying production-ready code.
  • SQL Fluency: Experienced in working with relational and cloud databases (e.g., BigQuery, GCP)
  • Data Pipelines: Possess expertise in building and maintaining Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes and dataflows.
  • Continuous Learner: Demonstrate a strong desire to learn new technologies and find innovative solutions to complex challenges.
  • Data Visualization (Bonus): Experience using business intelligence tools like Looker, Power BI, or Tableau.
  • Marketing Analytics (Bonus): Familiarity with digital marketing and GA4 data analysis is a plus.
