Solutions Architect

Location | Workplace policy: Remote first from offices in Leeds
Salary: Up to £70k + 15% bonus

In response to our client's growth (15 per cent in the past five years) and recent investment by a leading private equity investor, A leading technology firm is seeking to optimise its solution by hiring an experienced Solutions Architect that will plan and deliver roadmaps.

It’s an exciting role embedded within the heart of the architecture team that will see you working closely with the engineering teams to translate requirements into tech solutions.

Collaboration will remain an integral part of the role on offer with you working in a successful agile environment in collaboration with a whole host of experts in their field including business sponsors, product owners and engineering personnel.

Key responsibilities also include:

• Develop and maintain solution architectures in business infrastructures (remaining mindful of performance trade-offs, scalability etc.)
• Gather up client or business requirements from collected data/documents and recommend appropriate solutions to solve
• Select the most appropriate methodology, tools, and techniques for systems design, whether predictive (plan-driven) or adaptive (iterative/agile)
• Utilise agreed architectures, design standards & patterns create system components
• Ensure all-hazards/complex issues are given appropriate recommendations that are mindful of associated risks
• Evaluate team member’s information systems designs and make sure they follow the brand’s guidelines
• Balance functional & non-function requirements in system designs
• Deliver a stakeholder/communications plan that effectively balances relationships, addresses issues and provides lessons which can be
• Measure the effectiveness of the brand’s stakeholder management process through feedback and work to address any pitfalls the business might have
• Play a key role in the creation of system design policies, standards & selection of architecture components
• Influences customers, suppliers and partners at the domain level

Key skills needed:

• Deep understanding of the wider industry and the specialist bodies that reside within it.
• Can empower independent workers to remain aware of developing practices and drive their own development
• Exposure to a variety of Enterprise Architecture (EA) tools, methods, standards and techniques (Use cases, object-oriented analysis etc)
• Experience designing software components and modules that adhere to agreed software design standards
• Familiar with testing for non-functional requirements
• Appreciation for the importance of security with an openness to explore new approaches if necessary
• Familiar with analysis in an agile/ scrum team and understanding requirements in terms of Themes, Epics, User Stories and acceptance criteria
• Experience with: ESB, SOA, JSON, XML, Micro Services & APIs
• Highly skilled in AWS with knowledge of TOGAF or other architectural frameworks
• Experience with web technologies, and enterprise software platforms (Java-EE, Oracle)
• Background in building, deploying, changing and releasing processes/automation
